Axelrod Contemporary Ballet Theater stands united with the Black Lives Matter movement during one of our nation's most difficult times. It is only through education and perseverance that we may see systemic racism, prejudice, violence, and social injustice eradicated for future generations. Color-blind casting and openness to all performers have always been part of our company's DNA and we are committed to continually providing access and equality. We seek to mirror these ideals every day, not simply on stage or online. Our hearts go out to the family of George Floyd, Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Meagan Hockaday, Sandra Bland, Aiyana Jones, Rekia Boyd, and countless others who have lost their lives, been shown violence, or meet mistreatment simply for the color of their skin, religion, or sexual orientation. AXCBT and its members seek to be emissaries of change and positive support for all those brutalized or mindlessly abused throughout our one, very precious world.
